New and used parts suppliers and services for the Rover P5 (3 Litre) and P5B (3.5 Litre)...

Featured Suppliers

Here’s a selection of specialist suppliers who I’ve used personally in working on my P5B, and can personally recommend for their range of products and services.

http://www.jrwadhams.co.uk : The largest supplier of Rover P4, P5 and P6 parts worldwide.

“J R Wadhams Ltd was founded in 1989 by Jonathan Wadhams whose father was an engineer by trade but also used to race cars at Mallory Park in the 1950’s.  At the same time Jonathan can still remember going for family trips in his Grandfather’s Rover P4…

J R Wadhams Ltd is now indisputably the world’s largest independent supplier and manufacturer of parts for the Classic Rovers P4, P5 and P6 models from 1949 to 1977.  The company has an unparalleled range of spares for all three marques.  Over the past 25 years, J R Wadhams Ltd has purchased stock from around the world to ensure the continuance of classic Rovers.”

https://www.davidgreen-p5.co.uk : Rover P5 and P5B cars / parts and classic cars wanted and for sale.

“I am a classic car enthusiast specialising in the Rover P5 and P5b, having owned a number of these superb cars since the late 1970’s.

I enjoy restoring classic cars of all types and I’m always looking for old, derelict vehicles waiting to be returned to their former glory. Do you want to sell your old classic car? We would like to buy your car, to restore and return to its former glory if it’s viable proposition. If you have an old car sitting in a barn or garage which you’d like to move on, please get in touch to discuss.

For the Rover P5 and P5b enthusiast, I can offer a range of new, refurbished and reconditioned Rover parts for your classic car.

Occasionally I have restored cars to sell. My ultimate aim is to keep beautiful vintage cars like the classic Rover on the road for many years to come.”

https://www.autosparks.co.uk : Classic British Quality Wiring Harnesses and Components.

Autosparks can provide most wiring-related things your Rover P5 and P5B needs, from a complete wiring loom to obscure-sized connectors and grommets. They also supply period-correct cloth-insulated cable in the correct colours. If you’re working on the wiring of your car, this is an invaluable supplier. The quality of their products is excellent.

“The origins of Autosparks date back to around the 1920’s when it’s founder, Mr Henry Colomb, formed an electrical business in Beverley Road, Hull. Under the ownership of Henry and the management of Mr Cliff Dalton, Autosparks Ltd flourished and by the 1980’s was a well established and well respected company. With Mr Colomb, then retired, living in Malta, and Mr Dalton reaching retirement age, the running of the company was left to a younger family member and with growing competition, the company finally collapsed in August 1991.

Meanwhile I began my business, R D Components, in November 1977, initially manufacturing and selling spares for the legendary BSA Gold Star motorcycle. Within 12 months I was doing full restorations and one of the items I had to make myself was the Wiring Harness. From there I built virtually a full range of Harnesses for all Post-war British Motorcycles, even supplying the reborn Triumph Motorcycles at Meriden. By 1983 I had began producing harnesses for classic cars, as well as manufacturing original equipment harnesses for the prestigious Aston Martin Lagonda marque which continued until the models at the time, the V8 and Lagonda saloons, were phased out in 1990. The rate at which R D Components grew and the quality of its products soon undermined the strength of, and the then complacent attitude of Autosparks. In 1991 we bought and moved Autosparks down to our base in Sandiacre, Nottingham.

Over half of the 30 plus workforce that are with me today were around at the time of the takeover offering an unrivalled wealth of knowledge and expertise to ensure that the quality of everything we produce remains very high.

Today Autosparks produces a range of Harnesses for classic Motorcycles, Cars, Tractors and Commercial Vehicles as well as supplying original equipment Harnesses to smaller volume manufacturers including such diverse applications as some of the top British Sportscars, European Road Sweepers and a range of Emergency Vehicles.”

http://www.gsparkplug.com

A great range of products, and not just electrical – need a compression fitting for the P5 or P5B fuel system? This is the place.

“The Green Spark Plug Co. is the only company in the world that specialises in Spark Plugs & Accessories for Veteran, Vintage and Classic engines. Whether it is for cars, racers, lorries, motorbikes, stationary engines or even vintage lawn mowers the Green Spark Plug Co. has vast stock of period plugs and their modern equivalents.

From an early age Tim Green has been consumed by his obsession with Morgan three-wheelers. In his teens he drove a Matchless Morgan as his everyday transport but soon switched his loyalties to a JAP powered Morgan. Today the all-consuming interest continues and he has a “café” racer on the road alongside several other three-wheelers, in various states of road-readiness.”

http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu : Suppliers of auto electrical parts for trade and DIY since 1974.

An amazing range of electrical parts and tools, including a great range of cable with the correct colour tracers in various sizes. I also recommend getting both a Lucar crimp tool and Bullet crimp tool if you’re doing any work on your car electrics – these tools make a huge different to the quality of crimp connections (and ultimately the reliability of your car).

“We can supply all the parts you need for vehicle wiring. Our stocks include thousands of cables, terminals, connectors, crimp tools, switches, fuse boxes, brake pipe and fittings etc. If you are repairing or carrying out modifications to your vehicles’s wiring or manufacturing a complete harness you will find the parts you need in our comprehensive on-line catalogue.

Materials stocked for classic cars and motorcycles, modern vehicles, motor sports, kit cars, campervans, caravans, marine craft and narrowboats etc. We have been supplying vehicle wiring parts worldwide by mail order for over 25 years.”

Red Triangle

http://www.redtriangle.co.uk : The Home of Alvis Cars

After Rover’s purchase of Alvis in the 1960’s, it’s wonderful that Alvis cars have such a great parts supplier. I’ve used the company to source some hard-to-find New Old Stock components such as the P5 and P5B Lucas floor headlamp dip switch, which was used on Alvis  vehicles (and many other British cars).

“Founded by the ex-employees, with the help and support of the Alvis Company, Red Triangle started business in June 1968 providing parts and service for the cars in everyday use at that time. The Alvis Company passed everything to Red Triangle – the complete stock of ALVIS PARTS, all 22,000 Car Records, one for every car Alvis produced and over 14,000 works drawings, correspondence files and data sheets – in fact everything to do with Alvis cars from 1920 to 1967.”
